on Tuesday, May 3rd.
Visit
to the Olympic Museum (Monday, May 2nd)

The first social event is the visit to the Olympic Museum
of Lausanne.
All the GLSVLSI 2011 conference attendees (both students and
non-students) can participate to this event.
The museum will be visited in groups from 15:00 to 15:50 and
from 16:00 to 16:50.
Finally, an aperitif will be offered from 17:00 to 18:00.

Archaeological excavations in Greece have
yielded sculptures and other artifacts from the
"Cradle of the Olympics".
In the history section, you can examine medal
sets and torches from past Olympic Games.
Displays of costumes and equipment show how
Olympic summer and winter sports have evolved in
the modern era.

Interactive terminals make it easy to view
famous performances from past Olympics.
Location: in the Olympic Park of Lausanne, along the
lakefront of Ouchy (look for the Olympic Fountain, then follow
the gently sloping path up to the museum or use the outdoor
escalator).
Accessibility: the museum is fully accessible to
wheelchairs, is equipped with toilets for disabled visitors, and
has rest areas in the building and the surrounding park.
Visitor facilities: the museum has a shop and a very
pleasant restaurant with a terrace.
Web site: to retrieve further information, please visit
the Olympic Museum section of the website
www.olympic.org.
Gala
Dinner (Tuesday, May 3rd)

The second social event is the Gala Dinner, which will be
held on a boat on the beautiful lake of Lausanne (the length of
the trip is around 3 hours).
The ticket for the Gala Dinner is included in all the full-rate
registrations. However, extra Gala Dinner tickets can be bought
if needed.
The boat will leave from Lausanne-Ouchy at 18:30, while the
